SARAPO: Nearly 30 Somali immigrants face appalling living conditions in Netherlands

AMSTERDAM (Baidoanews.com)—The Chairman of Saafi Relief for Agro Pastoral Organization (SARAPO),Mohamed Hassan Idriss better known as (Mohamed Geney) and his aiding team have visited dozens of Somali immigrants facing appalling living conditions in Netherlands.

Mr.Idriss has paid on Monday a short visit to the area, where at least 30 Somali immigrants are now locating after IND has force them to leave their residential village for unknown circumstances’.

SARAPO chairman has delivered a package of aid from his own pocket to the needy people, comprising of 30 persons, including women and children. The Dutch Immigration Service (the IND) has sent these people out of their former houses to the cold an open area exposed to the cold weather.

“These evicted Somali immigrants living at the makeshift shelters in Amsterdam west city part, osdorp are really vulnerable and prone for upcoming storms and rains of the winter season, with no water, food, healthcare and toilets” said SARAPO chairman, Mohamed Hassan Idriss, adding “they need emergency response”.

He reiterates his strong concerns for the deteriorating living conditions of the Somali immigrants.

“It is really dangerous I will be killed,” said a Somali immigrant man almost with tears in his eyes.

“No one, organisations and Somali community leaders have stood or even tried to get a solution for these problems and offer them a better home instead of outside sleeping,” SARAPO chairman added.

However, Eberhard van der Laan, The mayor of Amsterdam needs to get a solution, according to Daphne Louisa, a Dutch Social activist. She said the people want to be helped and resettled as soon as possible.
