Your excellency,
                                                                                                                                                                                                            May11, 2020

I write to ask you to undertake a thorough comprehensive review of the State’s Department’ policies, strategies and tactics regarding Somalia. Unless there is a significant, timely change, Somalia will endure yet another civil war, and its mutual enemies such as Al-Shabaab, Qatar, UAE, Ethiopia, kenya, Turkey,Russia and China will surely take control.

Under the State Department’s present policies, the political and security situation is rapidly deteriorating. Somalis feel that the United States has abandoned them.

Consider the following:

1. By siding/supporting President Farmajo’s regime, United States has presided over a disastrous
security failure. It seemingly condones President Farmajo’s failure to implement critical reforms and his moves to stay in power, and to postpone the elections rather than committing to achieve national security and stability.

2. Despite the U.S. governments’ spending of billions of dollars to support the Somali National Army(SNA) and other agencies, security has deteriorated significantly. The Somali people are still caught between powerful Shabab terrorist and unlawfully politicized Somalia National Security forces.

3. The U.S. Government continues to support President Farmaajo’ who undermining the Constitution and developing a SIAD BARRE era like dictatorship under which both Federal Legislative Houses have been rendered powerless, and Federal Member States’ rights destroyed.

4. Millions of my people have given up any hope of realizing any form of political freedom, improved national security, stability, reconciliation and rapprochement between the Federal Government and Federal Members States.

I hope that you will, immediately conduct a comprehensive review that includes input from all Somalis. If you agree we will submit our recommendations to you.

Thank you for your consideration of this important request
Ahmed Siad
